I have used Permatex Anti-Sieze for decades and still rely on it on almost every repair I undertake. Basically, if you have a bolt/nut that's difficult to get off, apply this to the threads of the bolt before you reinstall and you'll thank yourself next time you remove that bolt. As a caution, do not apply it to your wheel studs....not worth the risk of lug nuts working their way loose due to the natural vibration coupled with the reduction in friction that this product creates. But for bolts that are meant to secure parts in place, this is a no-brainer in most cases. Of course, you'll want to heed the disclaimers on the bottle.
In addition to using it on standard mounting bolts of all styles, I also apply it to the thin metal disk brake hardware clips to facilitate movement of the pads within those clips. The product is thick, but applies easily with the sturdy brush that's attached to the lid, and you'll want to make sure to stir the contents every now and then to keep it from getting gummy.
This is a great product, I highly recommend it, and if you're not using an anti-sieze yet, buy some now!
